BAKE SHOP

Bake Shop was a project I helped create and open with owner Krista Nelson from 2020 to 2023. I was hired on as the opening head chef, and alongside Krista, created all of our house-made recipes for sourdough, pastry, and savory items. One of the key features of this cafe while I was running the kitchen was to reduce waste, using as many items in as many ways as possible. I made most of the products we sold by hand, including yogurt, granola, pastry, bread, mayo, etc. This was one of the biggest challenges of my professional career so far, and something that taught me how much I love to be creative on the fly, as well as managing and working with interesting and creative individuals.
