Like most things in life, I didn’t quite expect to fall into cooking professionally, though it shouldn’t have been much of a shock given the mock restaurant I would put on with my little sister in our basement. Food has always been a source of great pleasure and enjoyment for me, and leaning into this in a professional way in the past many years has proven to be a joy. My ethos on food is to take bits and pieces from a variety of sources. The real American way! By collecting flavors and inspirations in my travels and my endeavors eating out. I don’t find myself cooking one way, though of course I have a style, but integrating flavors from places I’ve been and places I wish to go.
I particularly like helping others put on events to feel special but maybe they don’t have all the time in the world to work out every detail. I find it very rewarding to work with people and curate a menu and a vibe for something they are envisioning so that this can come to life for them. I love hosting, and I love to help others host. I hope my work can help people feel relaxed and more at ease while putting on an event because though they are meant to create joy, they certainly find themselves pressing our buttons, I hope to release some of that pressure!
